Meadow area, back garden

I left the central wedge of my tiny triangle of meadow unmown, cutting a path around it in the early autumn. Leggy and gone to seed, it doesn't look very inspiring at this time of year but the droopy spiny heads of spear thistle give me some structure for a quick sketch as the afternoon light fades on the eve of the shortest day of the year.
