Rhubarb Festival, Trinity Walk, Wakefield
A lame pied wagtail patrols the precinct.
A pigeon tries its luck at one of the pavement cafes.
A starling comes down for the odd scrap but has to be quick to beat the street sweepers who are continually on duty.
The only pheasant's feathers that we see at the festival are those that are worn in the top hats of the morris dancers. This cock pheasant was at our bird feeders. Sporting that magnificent tail, it's evident that so far he's been able to avoid meeting our local troupe of morris dancers. No sign of any females.
A single mound near the bird feeders in our back garden. It looks like the work of a mole. Here's hoping that the brown rats aren't back. We haven't seen them recently.
