We're at the Meadowhall shopping centre, Sheffield, to let the bookshops know about my appearance on My Yorkshire next week. I wouldn't want the bookshops to miss out on all the interest created by my 15 minutes of fame.

While Barbara and her Mum queue for the coffees in Café Revive, Marks and Spencer's, I sit and sketch the queue. You've seen this subject many times in this diary but what makes this different is there, middle row, far right, is Barbara, making a rare Hitchcockian appearance in the picture.

From the palm fronds and the pantiles of the Calle de Pablo, you might think we've suddenly caught the plane for the Mediterranean but no, this is the themed enviroment of the Oasis food hall and, to be honest, the super supreme and salad from the Pizza Hut Express weren't bad at all.
