like this quote from Robert Crumb, which Danny
Gregory included in a recent piece on pen and ink work in his
Everyday Matters weblog:
'Drawing is just an excuse to crosshatch'
In the very brief intervals I managed to give myself drawing today I
certainly enjoyed building up the hatching and crosshatching on the cushions
of on our sofa.
This morning, as I waited in the car by the do-it-yourself store I saw
a row of terraced houses which I thought would make a good subject. Before
I got a chance to draw them, a large 4 x 4 parked in the space in front
of me, so I had to content myself with drawing to top of the tree instead.
