Window of Opportunity

back gardenI'VE BEEN SHOWING YOU my latest watercolour box and brushes over the last couple of days but so far I don't have much to show in the way of results. I took my little art bag with me when we called on my mum this morning and, as we chatted over a coffee, I did this quick sketch of the view across her back garden through the window.

Not much, but if I hadn't had my drawing kit with me I wouldn't have drawn anything. I look forward to having more opportunities to draw. Barbara and I are trying to get a work life balance. If I'm to make any progress, I should find time not just for my professional work but also regularly give myself the opportunity to draw just for fun. With British Summertime officially here at last - although you might not think so to judge by the frequent hail showers - it's a good time to be thinking about getting out and about drawing and walking again.
