Tapestry
Wild West Yorkshire nature diary, Tuesday February 1999

Increasingly the dull waysides are filling in with a variety of greens;
The green starfishes of Foxglove.
Fernlike fronds of Cow Parsley and other umbellifers.
Cross-stitch drifts of Chickweed, some in flower.
Embossed patches of Jack-by-the-Hedge (Hedge Garlic).
Bedraggled dull purple bramble leaves.
Rosettes of Dandelions, the odd one already in flower.

In the wood a few clumps of Arum (Cuckoo Pint, Lords and Ladies) grow amongst the increasingly lush Wild Garlic.
