cyperus sedge CYPERUS SEDGE grows in a dense clump at the edge of the canal. At the moment the female flowerheads are hanging, in clumps of seven of so, like furry green caterpillars. The stem of this sedge is triangular.

tansy Tansy has come into flower recently in hedges and along waysides. Its aromatic, bitter leaves, were once used as a flavouring for an omelette. As they are slightly poisonous this also served as a treatment for intestinal worms.

frog Seven Frogs sit by the pond this evening. I guess that two or three times as many lie hidden.
