With
a book launch pencilled in at Rickaro's bookshop a week on Saturday I
need to make strides with Four Corners of Horbury. Sunday afternoon
should be a good time to go to Healey Marshalling Yards to draw the diesel
shunter that I want to include.
Unfortunately, it's parked in the middle of the yard, a hundred yards
from the footpath. I start drawing but before I can finish the clouds
part and a brilliant low sun turns the shunter into a black silhouette.
Then a shower of rain comes over.
The
walk out there isn't wasted; on the way back I sketch the old cast iron
sign on the Island which I want to include in the book with the drawing
of this old riverside property that I made a couple of weeks ago.
