Ings Road

buddleiaFrom here in Js Café in Sainsbury's, Wakefield looks like a sylvan utopia. There's been a hiatus in developing the site on the north side of Ings Road, which has now sprouted dozens of buddliea bushes, though last time I walked past them, a few weeks ago, I didn't spot a single butterfly on the mass of blossoms, probably because of the cool west summer days we've had.

They're putting the last hipped roof on the previously flat-roofed blocks of flats on George Street. The main mass of trees here is the surprising survival of extensive gardens behind a Georgian terrace on George Street.

I prefer the new look and the golden orange they've painted them in works for me. The utilitarian 1960s put on in-your-face 21st century baseball caps. Next Page
