There's
a pale rainbow at one stage this morning but it's windy
and wet for the whole afternoon. The lawn is now soggy and slippy and
it's not surprising that moss grows so luxuriantly at the front of the
house, where the grass hardly sees the sun in the winter.
The
river is cascading over the weir, rather than fanning
out in braids around the rocky debris.
Two mutes swans are where they always seem to be these
days: on the calm canal by the entrance to the canal basin.
