I just get to the station at Hope, in the Peak
District, Derbyshire as the train is due to arrive. I've walked
through parks, woods, over pastures, moors, through plantations,
village and alongside the River Derwent (this the Derbyshire Derwent,
we walked alongside the not disimilar Cumbrian river of the same
name last week).
These drawings, made on the return train are all that I did all
day: my plan was to walk from Sheffield Station and to get as far
as I could into the Peak District so that I could join together
in my mind the various swatches of the countryside I've already
seen.
There is plenty of material for the book that I'm intending
to write and draw. |
