This morning at 8 it was 19°C indoors but it got up to 24°C in the sun on the patio. Breakfast outside, dinner outside for the first time this year. It's now 7.20 pm and the temperature is still 18°C. Below the feeders a male blackbird collects beakfuls of sunflower hearts spilt by the finches. A house sparrow chirps enthusiastically from the apex of the shed roof. After a week that started off feeling like autumn, today is more like a summer's day. We fit in errands like me getting a haircut and delivering books in town (hence the sketches in the Café Revive). Richard Bell, richard@willowisland.co.uk |
