There are pussy willow and hazel catkins on the shrubs by the stream at the bottom end of the Balk. The yellow flowers of coltsfoot and lesser celandine are out. Will I get chance to draw any spring flowers this year?
Fresh signs have been placed on either side of the old stile, both to ‘Netherton ¼ mile’, so you’ve got a choice of a bridleway through the woods or of crossing the old stile and following a hollow up through the fields.
