Fallen Willow
The leaves of wild garlic are at their freshest. After all the work that was done clearing fallen willows by Coxley Beck this winter, the garlic looks more verdant than ever. The beck burbles softly, one of my favourite natural sounds, but it isn’t so long ago that it was rushing along. Those new footpath signs are part of a revamp for Coxley Valley’s footpaths but unfortunately the floods of January have already undone some of the work; there’s the start of an erosion channel in the broad path immediately downstream from Coxley Dam.
