Richard Bell's Wild West Yorkshire nature diary, Tuesday 24 August 2010
THE
GARTHWAITE
family has
been at
Blacker
Hall,
Calder Grove,
south-west
of Wakefield,
for 300
years. In
1999 they
opened a
farm shop
in the adjacent
barn (left)
and recently
the barn
across the
courtyard
has been
converted
into a spacious
café;
the perfect
place to
bring Barbara's
mum on her
first short
trip out.
