Spring Frost
Wild West Yorkshire nature diary, Wednesday 14th April 1999
TOWERS OF CUMULUS fill the skies in the afternoon, but overnight it was clear. The Universal Pansies, which have flowered so well during this mild winter, are bowed down by the frost. They recover, to some extent, later.
A cock Pheasant follows the hen across the meadow, bowing deeply.
One Starling carries nesting material, while another sings from a telephone wire, throat extended.
