A CADDIS FLY rests on the garage door.
The bird table is popular again, especially with the House Sparrows. They make the most of the cover provided by the Hawthorn hedge alongside.

Late afternoon; Starlings are gathering on bare branches and on the cross at the top of the church spire in Horbury.
Falling leaves have revealed the remains of a Magpies' nest in a canal-side thorn, about eight feet from the ground. It is constructed like a rough basket, a little over 18 inches across, and has been lined with mud.
