I've made a small start on cutting back the vegetation around the pond but these two house sparrows can't seem to find access to the water form the overgrown edges. Instead they take turns to drink by making their way down an old dry stem of hogweed that is trailing in the water from a thick clump of fern and weeds.
It's time to clear a better access for the birds.
