cloud
With the devastation in the Caribbean, I can hardly complain about our weather but when I go to finish my drawing of the archway by the canal it's a rerun of yesterday with the breeze blowing so much that I make sure my sketchbook, my artbag and myself on my folding canvas chair are firmly anchored and don't end up in the water.

Soon a large shower cloud, similar to the one that stopped my work yesterday, is looming out of the south west.

The weather might be wild here, but hurricanes continue to devastate the Caribbean and Florida is facing its third in a season. The National Hurricane Centre (link below) gives the latest reports. That's Hurricane Ivan over the Caribbean.

Thorn Treehawthorn leaf

This hawthorn grows between ornamental cherries and self-planted sycamores in the grounds of Flanshaw Library. This thorn tree might be a remnant from an old hedge which has been allowed to grow into a tree about 12 feet tall.

hawthorn berriesSome hawthorns are now crimson with berries but this one was predominently leafy. Next Page
