This
morning a male siskin feeds on the niger and sunflower
hearts. He's a bit smaller than our regular bird feeder visitors, the
goldfinches but equally attractive with his neat markings and mossy green
plumage. It's the first time that we've seen one this year, as far as
I remember.
The
nuthatch is still flying in to feed on the sunflower hearts, peanuts and
fat block. We've come to recognise its direct but dipping flight.
