THE FAT RED HIPS on the hedge of Briar Rose by the car park in town have now turned brown. They're looking shrivelled and the worse for wear.
In the middle of the bush there's a splash of bright green and yellow; a male Greenfinch which, I guess, has been attracted to feed on the seeds that these hips contain.
