The song thrush starts his performance at 5.35 a.m. and a little later he's joined by a melodious blackbird.
Later in the day a female house sparrow investigates the gap between the barge boarding and the roof tiles. Much as I'd like to encourage the sparrows to nest there it's a gap that I need to get around to filling with cement, as this side of the house gets all the weather.
