COAL, BLUE AND GREAT TITS have been regular visitors to the bird table recently so yesterday we put out two fat balls to keep pace with the growing demand.
When we looked out this morning they'd gone. We soon found the culprit. A large, fat, sleek Grey Squirrel was grappling with the peanut feeder, attempting either to bite a hole in it, or carry the whole thing away.
I shooed it off and removed the feeders to the washing line. The birds soon found them again. A single Goldfinch fed on the nuts.
