A MALE BLACKBIRD drinks at the edge of a largely ice-covered pond - he's
not our resident bird, that's 'White-tail' who flies down from the bird
table, edges him away and takes a drink himself.
There are a number of wintering blackbirds around today. At one stage there are four of them close together in next door's garden.
